Looking after our collections

National Museums Liverpool holds more than 4 million objects across the collections of all our museums and galleries|.

The care, conservation and technical research of objects in National Museums Liverpool's collections is undertaken by the collections management division. We combine our knowledge of materials and history of technology with state of the art facilities and scientific techniques to care for, research and interpret our collections.

Our Conservation techonolgies department| offers a range of professional services including 3D laser scanning, replication, mount making and sculpture conservation.

We also have an opinion service. If you have a special object at home that you'd like to know how to look after then ask our advice|.
