Liverpool Voluntary Society For The Blind

This is the first exhibition of LSVB's Tuesday art group. The exhibition is being held at Liverpool Central Library, William Brown Street, Liverpool during June 2002. This online exhibition was developed with National Museums Liverpool.

The Tuesday art group has chosen to exhibit to encourage other people with visual disabilities. Thanks to Judy Mazonowicz, Rob Canning and Doreen Taylor for their assistance in setting up the exhibition.

The group was started in 1997. Tuition is provided by Adult Learning Service throughout the academic year.

Bert Dickman

Eye condition: Macular degeneration
Age: 85

I started painting with the LVSB art group in 1998. I had not painted before. I started by drawing a church from memory. I was pleased that someone recognised it for what it was. I now do mainly land and seascapes.

I enjoy the appreciation I get for my work.

I believe that the ability to draw runs in my family. I am amazed at the work I can do with my disability.
