On display in the World Cultures gallery in World Museum Liverpool in 2007
Re-interpret was a project that enabled local communities to present an alternative point of view in response to the collections within our museums and galleries.
During February and March 2007 a group of young people from the Get Connected project at Refugee Action participated in a number of workshops at World Museum Liverpool. Objects were selected from the Asia, Oceania, Americas and Africa collections that related to the theme of cultural identity. The group engaged in discussions on the World Cultures gallery to discover the story behind each of the objects. They then took part in creative workshops, resulting in a series of collaborative artworks.
The completed artworks were then incorporated into a number of panels, which were displayed on the World Cultures gallery at World Museum Liverpool.
