We offer a great choice of places to eat for Merseyside Maritime Museum and the International Slavery Museum.

Maritime Dining Room

Situated on the top floor, our restaurant serves modern seasonal food made by our award winning chefs using fresh locally sourced produce. You can relax and take in the fantastic dual aspect views of the Albert Dock and the Liverpool waterfront whilst enjoying a leisurely lunch or afternoon tea. 

Our afternoon tea includes a decadent selection of savoury modern favourites, delicious homemade cakes and delicate patisserie, accompanied by freshly baked fruit scones served with homemade fruit conserve and fresh cream.

On Sundays why not treat the family to lunch with our two course Sunday sharing roasts.

Quayside café

Located on the ground floor, our café offers great views looking out over the Albert Dock whether you choose to sit inside or out under the colonnades. You can choose from a selection of light bites including soup and pasties, alongside a selection of freshly made sandwiches, cakes and pastries, snacks, hot and cold drinks.

River Festival - extended opening hours for cafés

The waterfront museums

The Quayside café at Merseyside Maritime Museum is open as follows during the River Festival:

Friday 13 June 2014  9-7pm

Saturday 14 June 2014  9-7pm

Sunday 15 June 2014  9-7pm 

The Waterfront café at the Museum of Liverpool also opens at 9am on these dates and closes slightly later on Friday and Saturday - see the Waterfront café web page | for full details.

Picnic area

There are benches around the docks and waterfront area a short walk from the museum, where visitors can eat a picnic on a nice day. Please dispose of rubbish responsibly.


The shop for Merseyside Maritime Museum and the International Slavery Museum is located on the ground floor and stocks a wide range of gifts and souvenirs. Whether you have a specialist interest in maritime history, slavery or Liverpool we have a range of products to suit. For the little pirates and mermaids amongst us there’s plenty of 'booty' to be had too!

We offer a range of venues and spaces across our museums and galleries which are available for hire. Whether you prefer the stunning backdrop of the World Heritage Liverpool waterfront or Victorian architectural grandeur to host your event our venues are sure to leave a memorable impression.
