This vehicle was one of several supplied to Simmonds, Hunt & Montgomery, Liverpool and was part of a fleet designed for use on the roads, hauling a variety of trailers. After World War Two these tractors were taken over by Criddle & Co, manufacturers of oil cake, and ran between their works in Great Homer Street and the docks.

It was manufactured by Sentinel Ltd, Shrewsbury, Shropshire and is number 6842 with registration number KA 6147. It uses an advanced vertical boiler with a superheater to supply a multi-cylinder simple steam engine under the floor.
