The exhibition's centrepiece is the enormous model of Sir Edwin Lutyens' design for Liverpool's Catholic Cathedral - one of the most elaborate architectural models ever built in Britain. This gives an insight into the extraordinary ambition of the plan to build the world's second largest cathedral, right here in Liverpool.

Had it been built it would have dominated Liverpool's skyline forever.
