On the third floor of the museum you can disover human civilisations from across the ancient world and explore our new Ancient Egypt gallery.


The Ancient World gallery

Here you will find objects from Imperial Rome including sculptures of gods, emperors and noble people. You can also see painted Greek pottery and fantastic finds from the graves of Anglo-Saxon communities living in south east England.


The Ancient Egypt gallery

The new Ancient Egypt gallery has over 1,300 objects on display and exciting audio-visual features and interactives. Some of the objects in the gallery have not been on show for over 60 years. Find out more about the Ancient Egypt gallery.

 

About the collection

The Ancient World galleries only display a selection of the thousands of collection items from our antiquities department. The full collection is made up of 80,000 objects that range in size and shape from tiny Egyptian scarabs to large sculptures of Roman gods. Find out more about the antiquities collection


The Weston Discovery Centre
