Adze

An adze blade in dark grey stone with orange-brown patches, possibly weathering. The outline is asymmetrical and the cross-section rounded rectangular. The butt is undifferentiated. The surface is bruised and ground and polished. There are convex bevels on both front and back (the latter larger), and the chin lines are curved. The cutting edge is curved. The front and back profiles are convex. The cutting edge is blunt. There are four grooves and four white ink crosses on the front edges (presumably from mounting in the past).
