Amulet box / ga'u

A rectangular shaped small, copper ga'u or charm box. The front panel is gilded and decorated with bands of well worn repousse decoration, each band is outlined with beading. At the top two corners are inlaid chips of lapis lazuli and in the bottom two corners there are coral beads. Both the back panel and the front have a pair of square lug handles. The ga'u still contains a small roughly cast brass figure of Tara.
