Fragment of a bead net funerary shroud constructed of cylinder and disc shaped faience beads strung together in a net pattern that would have been placed over the outer wrappings of a mummified body. Described in 1950 as a faience girdle or "mummy's chain". Ex Skeffington Smythe collection. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Some broken beads, thread has broken in several places with some beads coming loose, worn, concretions, surface dirt.
