Bellerophon Kills the Chimaera

This is part of a group of drawings by British artist and book illustrator Edward Francis Burney, depicting scenes from Greek and Roman history and mythology. Bellerophron was the most prodigious slayer of monsters before the days of Heracles. His bravest feat, killing the Chimaera, is illustrated here.
