Information
Groups of children look on at the aftermath of a German bombing raid on Glassonby Crescent, Norris Green, 26 April 1941.
Whilst wartime offered children new opportunities for adventure there was a very real danger as Liverpool’s docks were a prime enemy target. Thousands of Liverpool children were evacuated, either to purpose built camps like Colomendy in North Wales, sent to relatives or to live with strangers in more rural locations.
