Canopic Box Panel

Panel from the side of a canopic box. Two standing figures of the Sons of Horus, jackal-headed god Duamutef and human-headed god Imseti. Three sides have a border of black hieroglyphs on a yellow background. This is the same style as a canopic box inscribed for Mertief and found in tomb G57 at Abydos (Petrie and Weigall, 'Abydos Part I. 1902', London 1902, p. 35, pl. LXXIV nos. 4-7). CONDITION NOTE 1998: Old infestation, dry, splitting wood, cracked surface , some surface loss, surface dirt, discoloured, label adhered.
