Mummified Cat

Cat mummy. Bandages wrapped in a herringbone style. X-rays revealed a complete cat is beneath the layers of linen bandages. Following a public appeal for donations after the Second World War Mrs Enid Brett a resident of Colchester sent this cat mummy collected by Sir Colin Scott-Moncrieff (1836-1916), a minister of public works during the British occupation of Egypt who held power within the Egyptian antiquities service.
