Information
Painted and inscribed wooden rectangular-shaped coffin bearing the name Ankhariit (“Aryt lives”) who was described as a 'lady of the house'. From Tomb 39 at Beni Hasan. Mid- to late 12th Dyn. Unfortunately the coffin was left on display in the Second World War and was destroyed by fire in May 1941. An archive photograph taken in 1932 shows the coffin on display in the centre of the Main Hall in Case 43, positioned above the sarcophagus of Insw (25.11.05.183).
DESTROYED IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR.
