Acetate negative by Gerry Castle, ca. 1963-1964. Image shows construction of the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral in Hope Street. The Grade II-listed through-arch bridge opened in 1961 as a replacement of the old Widnes-Runcorn Transporter Bridge. It was renamed in honour of Queen Elizabeth II's silver jubilee in 1977.
