Information

Eric Robertson was a Scottish artist who moved to Liverpool after the collapse of his first marriage to the artist Cecile Walton (1891 - 1956) in 1923. He was commissioned to create murals for several establishments in the city. These designs are for a dance hall, possibly at the Rialto Theatre, which opened in 1927 on Upper Parliament Street. The Rialto was closed in 1964, converted into a furniture shop, and later destroyed during the Toxteth Riots of 1981.
