Egyptian alabaster hemispherical form ear stud. In shape the piece resembles a papyrus column with widely flaring umbel. Small sized compared to others in the collection. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Worn, surrface dirt. Gatty Slip (1873): Seven alabaster studs in shape of mushrooms, used for ear ornaments - Four have only the circular tops. Catalogue Card (1920): Four ear-plugs and parts of three more. Alabaster, 7; and limestone 1. Mushroom in shape; hts up to 0.032 m. Period: Saite. Technique: Fair. Preservation: Some in fragments.
