One of a pair of penannular earrings with a narrow opening. Gold foil on a solid core. Joseph Mayer’s catalogue for the object reads: “19, 20. Ear-rings of gold, a pair; they are hollow, and of the form usually found sculptured on the statues.” (1852 p. 15).
