1978.291.245d
Information
Forged text from the Epistle of James of the New Testament (Simonides' fragment VII; lower part) created by Constantine Simonides in 1860. The papyrus was stuck to cardboard by Simonides as a group for display in Joseph Mayer’s Egyptian Museum at 8 Colquitt Street. The papyrus is most likely ancient but the text is a modern forgery.
