The Glorious First of June

The Battle of Ushant took place on the 1st of June 1794, between the British Fleet under Lord Howe, and the French under Villaret. The action was generally known as "The Glorious First of June". This watercolour was exhibited at the Liverpool Autumn Exhibition in 1908, where bought by G H Ball and presented to the Walker Art Gallery.
