A kneeling youth, throwing up his arms in surprise

No painting connected with the drawing has been traced, possibly it was a study for an apostle in a Transfiguration of Christ. The very high finish suggests it may have been intended as an independent work. It could be compared with similar highly finished drawings by Carlo Dolci such as that of St. Cecelia in the Accademia, Venice.
