In making this stark, abstract print Kwami was inspired by some of Liverpool's more "brutalist" architecture, including a flyover near the city centre. The intricate designs from Asante gold dust storage box lids in the World Museum collection (including 1974.30.414b and LIV.2006.53.2) provide contrasting decorative accents.
