Mace Head

Unfinished pear-shaped mottled limestone mace head. The shaving marks made by the chisel are clearly evident on the exterior. An interesting example of an unfinished macehead which was perhaps found close to the Main Deposit at the Hierakonpolis Temple. Marked by the excavator with the site number 501 indicating the object came from this temple.
