Popular local band, The Merseybeats, made 107 appearances at The Cavern Club. They developed their own style, dressing in bolero jackets, Spanish-style suits and frilled shirts. In 1964, the band had a million selling single, ‘I Think of You’. They are pictured here on the Mersey Ferry, a classic promotional shot of the Merseybeat era.
