Amulet of Nefertem, wearing a lotus headdress with two tall feathers, tripartite wig, beard and shendyt loincloth. Nefertem was the son of Ptah and Sekhmet who represented youthful power and was identified with the lotus flower, a symbol of the newborn sun and regeneration. Suspension loop at the back. Both legs broken and left part of headdress damaged. Gatty Slip (1873): Faience figure of Nefer Atum walking in a pale bluish green. He wears a lilly and plumes of the sun on his head and both legs are broken. Noted as a very fine piece by Dr Birch.
