Silver gelatin print by Stewart Bale Ltd. Image shows the rebuilt Blackler's department store building at the corner of Elliot and Great Charlotte Streets, Liverpool. The original building was bombed during the Blitz of May 1941 and later demolished. The new building opened on 29 March 1953 and appears, in this photograph, to be decorated for the forthcoming coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
