Hollow terracotta standing figure of a female saint or beneficent demon. Top part of the hair is missing but holes are pierced through the hair at ear level. She wears a tunic with clavi indicated by painted verticals. Praying Figures like this are found in settlements and cemeteries in late Roman Period Egypt (AD 500 - 700). Compare with British Museum EA 69469 from Qaw el-Kebir. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, worn,discoloured, surface loss, surface dirt.
