Profile of Royal Face
M13819
Information
A fine limestone fragment of excellent workmanship showing the head of a king, facing to the right. Of the face only one side remains showing the eye, eye-brow and chin strap for a false beard, all very finely incised. The wig shows great detail and is made up of short curls, some of which still bear traces of black paint. On the top of the head is a diadem made of a band of small rectangles and at the side is a pendant uraeus wearing a sun-disc.
