Information

Steatite scarab seal with details of the head, wings and legs on the back, and flat base inscribed with a wedjat eye. Pierced through the length for suspension. Surface worn and cracked on one end. One of three scarabs found “in filling” of tomb no. 143 in cemetery A at el-Riqqa. See R. Engelbach, ‘Riqqeh and Memphis VI’ (1915) p. 18, pl. XVIII [no. 110], pl. XLI [no. 143]. In the publication of the fieldwork, this scarab is described as being 18th Dynasty in date but later reused in the 19th Dynasty.
