Cup

Cup (or beaker) of alabastron form, the cylindrical body tapering to the pointed base. Plain rim. Green faience with floral decoration in black. It is similar to other faience vessels of this shape from the late New Kingdom. Compare with two very similar examples excavated by Petrie at Gurob, part of his 'group 4' dated to the 19th Dynasty (1295 - 1186 BC) because of the name of King Ramesses II that appears on one of the vessels, now in Manchester Museum (nos. 718 and 719).
