St Sauveur, Dives, Normandy

This is a pencil study for the finished watercolour 'St Sauveur, Dives, Normandy', also in the collection of the Walker Art Gallery ( WAG 967). It shows the architectural detail of the church's west door and surrounding building work exactly as it appears in the finished watercolour, omitting the procession of people outside the entrance who appear in the finished version.
