Statue of Rachel (Album I)

A drawing of the statue of Rachel, finished by Michelangelo in 1545, for the tomb of Pope Julius II. There are very few known drawn copies after 'Rachel' other than by Ambrogio Figino (1548 - 1608). It was possibly drawn from the statue. Other contemporary drawings of Michelangelo's sculpture were approved by the artist himself and added to his own collection.
