String of Beads

String of discoid beads of carnelian, garnet and glazed faience. Mostly small size. On modern string. The Newberry-Peet typed catalogue card says "Beni Hasan 12th Dynasty". However, the register gives a locus of '5' and date of 12 - 18 Dynasty. It is more likely to be from Esna like all the other strings of beads in this accession. Accession Register entry 13 December 1905: "String of beads '5' XII-XVIII dynasties". CONDITION NOTE 1998: Pitted and chipped, surface dirt.
