Terminalia amazonia

These tropical trees can grow to be over 70m (230 feet) in height. They belong to the flowering plant family Combretaceae. The name ‘Terminalia’ comes from the Latin word ‘terminus’ a reference to the fact that the leaves grow at the tips of the shoots.
