Thangka of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal

A silk applique thangka likely showing Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal wearing a Drukpa Kagyu hat associated and monastic robes. He is seated in a landscape with deer and fruit bearing trees on a thron. In front of him is a low table on top of which are several vessels, at either side of the throne devotees offer conch shells ans dharma wheels. The applique is surrounded by a dark blue and gold brocase with repeating cloud designs.
