Vase

Vase, of rouleau form, painted in famille verte enamels with touches of gilding. Panels of various forms in brocade ground of dotted green, strewn with coloured flowers, and broken by medallions of storks. Two central panels with landscape, boats, and fishing folk; and between them two leaf-shaped panels with inscriptions, and two panels in the form of pomegranate and finger citron, painted with monsters and landscape. On the shoulders, four medallions with rocks, season flowers, and birds on varied brocade grounds. On the neck, two panels with landscape and figures. Borders of curled scroll pattern, ju-i (ruyi ''as-you-wish'') head and broad gadroons, enclosing symbols. Slightly raised rib on neck. Carved black wood stand.
