Bees, Wasps, Ants, and Sawflies (Hymenoptera)

The British aculeate collections consist of around 30,000 pinned specimens, rich in modern material. Notable collections include those of M. Edwards, G. Dicker and C. Clee. Sawflies and non-aculeate wasps are currently major growth areas. 

Palaearctic collections  

A few thousand specimens from the Greek Islands of Chios and Lesvos, mainly collected by M.J. Taylor and M. Hull.

World collections  

The internationally significant C. Collingwood collection of Ants (Formicidae) which includes many Types. 

Collections are available Monday - Friday by prior appointment with the curator Tony Hunter
