Paintings in the Napoleon room

The dedicated Napoleon room at the Lady Lever Art Gallery features artefacts and furniture related to Napoleon Bonaparte, collected by Lord Leverhulme.

Napoleon was one of William Lever’s heroes. Lever was a Liberal and admired the French Emperor for the ways in which he changed French society. Napoleon’s laws made life fairer and more equal for French citizens.
