Paintings in the Wedgwood rooms
The Lady Lever collection has four examples of rare oval Wedgwood plaques painted in enamel by George Stubbs.
Lever started to collect Wedgwood pottery in 1905. His first purchase was Lord Tweedmouth's collection of more than 300 pieces, which he displayed at his London home, The Hill, in Hampstead. He went on to add many interesting pieces to this collection, not least the rare plaques made by Wedgwood and painted by George Stubbs.
