What is Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band: The Immersive Experience?

Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band: The Immersive Experience is an opportunity to listen to a remix by Giles Martin of the classic album in Dolby Atmos, in an immersive sound environment, for the first time.

It is presented by Tate Liverpool and National Museums Liverpool with thanks to Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, Apple Corps Ltd, Universal Music and Dolby.

Where is it?

Dr Martin Luther King Jr Building, Albert Dock, L3 4AF.

The Dr Martin Luther King Jr Building was formerly the Dock Traffic Office and also home to Granada.

When is it?

There are five shows daily from 19 December 2019 until 9 January 2020, apart from 24, 25, 26 and 31 December and 1 January when the venue is closed.

Time slots 

  • 10-10.45am
  • 11.30am-12.15pm
  • 1-1.45pm
  • 2.30-3.15pm
  • 4-4.45pm.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the show starts. Unfortunately we can not admit entry to latecomers.

How much does it cost?

Tickets are free but must be pre-booked.

How many people will get to experience this event?

There are a maximum of 200 tickets available for each day, around 3,400 in total, so there is limited availability.

How do I get tickets?

Tickets are now sold out.

How many tickets can I order?

All tickets were on a first come first served basis and limited to two per person.

People all over the world love the Beatles, why were some tickets reserved for Liverpool residents?

This unique experience is a gift to the city who gave the world the Beatles. We put in this measure to enable as many Liverpool residents as possible to get tickets.

Can I get tickets on the day?

Tickets have all sold out in advance. However we will reallocate tickets in the event of guests not showing up or arriving too late for entry. This will be on a first come first served basis.

Is there wheelchair access?

There is access for two wheelchairs per performance.

Is it suitable for children?

There is no age limit but we recommend that this event is suitable for children age 12 upwards.

How long is the show?

The full experience is approximately 45-50 minutes long.

Can I use my phone during the show?

For the comfort and enjoyment of other guests please switch phones off during the show.

Can I film or record myself while at the event?

No, we want people to take time to enjoy the experience to its fullest and filming and photography may also distract or interrupt the enjoyment of others during the event.

Are there any toilets in the venue?

There are no toilets in the venue but guests are welcome to use the facilities in the Merseyside Maritime Museum which is a 2 minute walk away.
