Bathing costume

About this object

This wonderful bathing ensemble is very rare now as most early swimwear has not survived. Emily Tinne wore this outfit on her honeymoon in Culdaff, County Donegal, Ireland, where the family rented a holiday house, in July 1910. Nathan’s, the makers of the bathing costume, were also ‘Shirtmakers, Hosiers and Clerical Outfitters.’
