Evening coat with fur collar

WAG 2001.45.22

About this object

Emily Tinne bought this extraordinary evening coat, with its dramatic fur collar, from one of her favourite shops, George Henry Lee’s, because it appealed to her taste for glamour. But she probably never wore it. Her social life revolved around trips to the local theatres and art galleries, charitable tea parties and public lectures, none of which were particularly suitable settings for such a stunning garment.
