To mark the closing of the International Slavery Museum and Maritime Museum, join us to pay respects and acknowledge the stolen labour of enslaved peoples and the significance of this important milestone in the museums’ transformation.

Together we will hold a libation ceremony led by community elders and spiritual leaders for authenticity to honour ancestors and acknowledge the enduring impact of slavery.

This special moment includes a multilingual blessing to reflect the global reach of the transatlantic slave trade and a collective moment of silence to reflect on the lives lost and the resilience of those who endured. We will also be joined by local contributors.
