A global city: connections, reflections and exceptions
Through a series of events, the Museum of Liverpool is looking to explore what makes Liverpool a ‘global city’ and how its history and culture have been shaped by, and continue to influence, the world around it.
Our first topic will be a discussion around identity; the identity of the people that call Liverpool home and the global identity of the city itself.
Panelists are:
Amina Atiq; Yemeni-British poet and creative social activist
Daniel Draper; Documentary-maker and co-founder of Shut Out The Light Films
PJ Smith; Writer, spoken-word performer and recovery worker
We are also delighted to announce that as part of this event, we will be screening the year-in-the-life documentary 'Liverpool Story: Portrait of a City' by Shut Out The Light Films.
Communities and voices are observed from a fresh perspective as the city navigates through an eventful year. Mirroring the ebb and flow of the River Mersey, Liverpool Story is an intimate document of daily life; observing the city and its people over the passing seasons.

These events will take place in Museum of Liverpool Theatre, which is located on the ground floor.
