Black History Month: Rethinking Relationships Discovery Day
No current dates available
Did you know World Museum Liverpool has one of the best collections of Nigerian art and artefacts in the UK?
Join us to explore the collection and learn more about our ‘Rethinking Relationships’ project!
There will be in person talks from Nigerian experts Chinelo Njaka, Dr. Aderemi Ajala and Omotayo Omitola where you can hear about their research and see the objects that inspired them. As well as seeing objects that are usually in storage, you will be able to engage in activities and even get to handle some of the collection!
The event is free and will run from 12pm until 4pm
The event will give people an opportunity to learn more about a new project which hopes to involve people based both in Merseyside and Nigeria, and provide meaningful access to the collections. Any group or individuals who are interested in shaping the project can do so. This might include feedback sessions, historical research, creative responses, contributions to new learning resources, and/or the chance to be involved in a new community curated display!
We hope to see you there but if you cannot attend and think you want to be involved in the project, please email rethinkingrelationships@prm.ox.ac.uk to learn more.
Rethinking Relationships is funded by Arts Council England
