Small but powerful magical gemstones were used from the 2nd century AD to offer protection and healing. The gods they represent are not commonly known Greek gods and will be new to many. Words and symbols on them reflect Greek, Jewish and Christian traditions and were often repeated in order to evoke or strengthen protection
